The Varsity Gentlemen will be gracing the podium of Christus Rex on the University of North Dakota’s campus with their big voices, catchy tunes, and a cause worthy of supporting.
On Sunday, January 16th at 2pm, stop by to catch a glimpse of UND’s version of GLEE and support the Varsity Gentlemen as they raise funds for MeritCare and the Children’s Miracle Network. The Varsity Gentlemen, founded in 2005, is a men’s ensemble run solely by students and focused on providing charity concerts in the Grand Forks area to raise money for causes within the community. Singing songs with a twist, such as ‘Goober Peas’ and ‘Africa,’ you’ll be reminded of episodes of the hit NBC show, ‘The Sing Off’ and its a capella groups remixing old and new songs.
Having raised funds for The Northlands Rescue Mission, Dru’s Dive, and other area causes, the men of the Varsity Gentlemen enjoy combining music, fellowship, and helping others.
So while you’re eagerly awaiting the return of American Idol and to see what exactly J-Lo and Steven Tyler will have to say, check out some real American Idol’s right here in Grand Forks. Their back-to-school charity concert is free to attend, with a free will donation opportunity.
Concert information can be found on Culture Pulse and also check out some great audio and video clips of the group on their ‘UND Varsity Gentlemen’ facebook page.
