Arts, entertainment, and culture is truly available for all ages here in Greater Grand Forks. Whether you are a budding photographer looking for assistance in the dark room, a quilter in the search for the next best pattern, or you are looking for a chance to grace the stage, the valley has it all!
Thoroughly Modern Millie has all of New York dancing the Charleston. Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men, and a dragon-lady audiences will love to hate, Grand Forks Central High School will be performing this high-spirited musical in the Central High School Auditorium this weekend. Performance times for the show will be at 7:30 PM on Thursday, March 4th and Friday, March 5th, then again at 2 PM on Sunday, March 6th.
Taking place in New York City in 1922, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz – a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. Based on the popular 1967 film, the stage version includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers by Grand Forks Central High School’s finest performers.
