This week has so many events to pick from I don’t know how a Grand Forks resident can choose!

Beginning on Wednesday, Adrian Legg will be performing at the Empire Arts Center. Legg is bringing his acoustic guitar talents to the Empire’s stage where audience members can enjoy his colorful mix of gentle ballads, rock-edged electricity with hints of folk music. Tickets are only $18 with the performance beginning at 7:30 pm.

On Thursday, you can enjoy a performance from Emily Pinkerton at Calvary Lutheran Church. Haunting vocals, old-time banjo, and Andean guitar are the backbone of Emily Pinkerton’s alt-country fusion. Emily’s musical education carried her to Valparaíso, Chile, inspiring over a decade of immersion in Latin American music. With her latest album “Valparaíso,” she weaves these two worlds together in a vibrant tapestry that is North American, South American and entirely unique. The performance begins at 8:00 pm and is a free will offering!

Sunday will hold two musical performances on the UND campus beginning with a Faculty Recital by Royce Blackburn and Louise Pinkerton. The concert is the premiere of a duet songs cycle “Santayana Songs” written for the singers by Patrick Burke. The pianists are Susan Tang and David Henrickson. The program also includes music by Bach, Mozart, Faure and Britten. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for student or seniors with the performance starting at 4:00 pm. The second performence is the premier of the UND Student String Quartet. Violinists Andrew Ian Martin and Joel Tostas Alarcon, violist Lihue Czackis and cellist Austin Soderstrom will perform works by Russian Romantic composers Alexander Borodin and Alexander Glaznov. Tickets for adults are $6 and $3 for students or seniors with family passes available. The UND Student String Quartet performance begins at 8:00pm.
