I didn’t grasp the true greatness of Johnny Cash until I watched the film, Walk the Line. Sadly even my Elvis impersonation was more based on Forrest Gump than the actual King of Rock ‘n Roll. This wasn’t because of my lack of knowledge regarding music history, but because I was more concerned with whether or not Zach Hanson was going to reply to my fan letter.

Don’t worry, my taste in music has definitely improved and includes everyone from The Beatles to The Ooks of Hazzard, Dr. Dre to Dr. Love, and Johnny Holmes to the great Johnny Cash. Which is why I’m excited for the great performance tonight and Saturday by Sherwin Linton, along with his band “The Cotton Kings” and wife Pam Linton!
He’s a little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n roll, and he’s playing at the Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks April 15th-16th at 7pm! Sherwin Linton sings all the best classics from our favorite men – Johnny Cash, Elvis, Buddy Holly, and Chuck Berry.
Not only do you get to hear some of the greatest songs by the greatest artists, but he also performs original music. Singing since 1956, Linton performs a wide variety of traditional country, folk, gospel, and cowboy songs. Playing everywhere from the Grand Ole Opry to the Las Vegas strip, Linton and “The Cotton Kings†will surely put on a grand ole performance in Grand Forks this weekend!
