This week will be very busy for the University of North Dakota’s Music Department!

On Wednesday, April 27th, the UND Wind Ensemble will perform at the Chester Fritz Auditorium. This should be a very exciting performance! The concert will begin at 8:00 pm with tickets from $3 for students and $6 for adults.

The very next night, Thursday, April 28th, the University Band and The “Pride of the North” Basketball Band will perform a “pops” concert. The theme for this concert will be “UND @ the Movies!” and will feature both ensembles performing music either written for a movie, or used as part of a movie soundtrack. The concert will include music from “The Magnificent Seven”, “The Cowboys”, “Jaws”, “Star Trek”, “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, “Forrest Gump”, “The Music Man”, “Hairspray,” “Rocky”, “Shrek”, “Cars”, and “The Blues Brothers.” The two ensembles will combine for a finale performance of music from “The Incredibles.” With so many hit songs how can a movie or music lover resit?!? The concert will begin at 8:00 pm with tickets from $3 for students and $6 for adults.

The final concert of the week will be on Friday, April 29th. Come watch the Greater Grand Forks Master Chorale perform with the University of North Dakota Concert Choir for their Choral Masterworks Concert! With two amazing vocal choirs in one concert how could I pass this up? This is a great way to support two art organizations in our community.

No matter if you a classical concert lover, movie lover, or vocal music lover, this week has something for you!
